ChopValue Secures InBC Investment to Drive Sustainable Innovation in the B2B Furniture Industry

VANCOUVER, BC — August 27, 2024 — ChopValue, the global circular product solutions manufacturer, today announced a $4 million investment from InBC Investment Corp. (InBC), a strategic investment fund created by the Province of British Columbia committed to driving financial returns alongside positive impact, including climate action and sustainable growth in the province. Building on ChopValue's recent $15 million growth financing announcement, InBC’s injection of capital will advance ChopValue’s mission to transform urban waste into premium, carbon storing products to create a climate resilient economy.

InBC’s investment approach in solutions contributing to a more prosperous, sustainable, and inclusive future for British Columbia, led them to recognize ChopValue as a promising partner. The alignment between InBC’s core values and ChopValue’s impressive momentum and track record made the company an attractive candidate for InBC's support, with goals for the investment to drive significant and measurable impact in British Columbia and beyond.

“ChopValue is a pioneer in the circular economy, transforming waste into value-added products,” shared Leah Nguyen, Chief Investment Officer of InBC. “We at InBC are excited to support ChopValue, as our investment will help them scale their positive impact locally and globally, create sustainable jobs in B.C. and set a new standard of responsible manufacturing. This investment aligns with our impact objective to drive climate action and we look forward to the environmental and economic benefits the company will continue to bring to British Columbia and the global community.”

ChopValue will leverage InBC's investment to make strategic key hires on their Business Development and Design teams, enhancing their capacity to innovate and scale, attracting top talent to drive new business opportunities and pioneering design solutions. By bringing on experienced members with diverse expertise and established networks, ChopValue aims to accelerate the development and implementation of their sustainable solutions and grow market presence, further solidifying their leadership in circular manufacturing.

“So many of ChopValue’s global, diverse team members found a new home and developed their careers as young professionals in climate action in B.C.,” said Felix Böck, Founder and CEO of ChopValue. “InBC’s investment is not only a testament of what we’ve built to date, but a powerful catalyst for our efforts and strategy to build a more responsible future. It’s exciting to lead the way in rethinking our resources from a province that deeply values its environment. We recognize the immense responsibility that comes with this leadership and are committed to making a meaningful impact.”

The partnership with InBC marks a pivotal moment in ChopValue’s journey, further fueling innovation in the beautiful province of British Columbia, where the company was founded and has since expanded to nine countries. InBC’s investment not only validates ChopValue’s approach, but also provides the resources to accelerate the company’s vision of a waste-free future.
