1 February 2022, VANCOUVER BC — ChopValue, the world’s first circular economy franchise manufacturing sustainable products made entirely from recycled chopsticks, is proud to announce their newest US location in Boston, Massachusetts to further their global footprint and community impact.
ChopValue Boston will be opened by Elaine Chow, a graduate of the MIT Sloan School of Management who is an experienced executive focused on fostering a people-first culture in the workplace. In addition to being a working mom living with her family in Dorchester, she has served the community for 20 years in workforce and youth development, and is eager to continue building a more vibrant and sustainable local economy in new and inspiring ways. “Like many parents, I’m doing everything in my power to ensure that the world my kids will inhabit as adults will be the best it can be,” shares Chow. “My vision is for ChopValue Boston to serve as a local catalyst for circular business and inspire others to think bigger and better.” Chow also competed in the first AACA Asian Business Training & Mentorship Program contest at the beginning of January to pitch ChopValue Boston, winning both first place and the audience’s favorite contestant.
With the election of Michelle Wu, the first woman, person of color, and Asian American to serve as Boston’s Mayor, one of the city’s main visions is creating a thriving green economy to enhance environmental justice and achieve carbon neutrality. ChopValue Boston is ready to support the city’s mission and help prove that the circular economy can have a major impact on sustainability goals.
ChopValue launched its franchise program in 2020 with a successful first year expanding internationally to Asia and Europe, and now has 38 locations in development. Labeled as an essential business during the pandemic, ChopValue’s accelerated growth can be attributed to the company’s innovation, teamwork, and sustainability values that are resonating with consumers and businesses alike.
“From the moment we met Elaine, we knew how important it was to her to create a positive difference in her community with ChopValue as the mechanism,” says Felix Böck, Founder and CEO of ChopValue. “We are extremely excited to bring our concept to the East Coast. With her past business experience and network, we are confident she will lead the change in redefining waste as a resource in Boston.”
ChopValue Boston is slated to open in June of this year, and is excited to collaborate with other businesses and individuals to create a positive impact in the community. Reach out to email@example.com for circular opportunities or follow their journey on Instagram and Facebook.
The World Economic Forum forecasts the circular economy to be a $4.5 trillion industry by 2030. ChopValue is the world’s first circular economy franchise, designing and manufacturing products using an innovative, high-performance material engineered entirely from recycled chopsticks. Since its founding in 2016, ChopValue’s “urban harvesting” approach has saved over 48 million chopsticks from the landfill, turning them into beautiful and sustainable products for the home and office. Their compelling vision to redefine the term "waste" to "resource" has garnered the attention of top-tier media outlets such as Business Insider, BBC, The Guardian, and Forbes.
