Choose from the following set options:
OPTION A
Great Horned Owl
This Great Horned Owl was admitted to Calgary Wildlife as an orphan and spent three months in care before its release back to the wild. Great Horned Owls are powerful and skilled predators, equipped with incredible hunting abilities. Their specialized soft feathers allow them to fly in near silence, helping them surprise prey with remarkable stealth.
American White Pelican
This American White Pelican was found injured and alone and was admitted to Calgary Wildlife for care.. As social colony birds, pelicans migrate together, and injuries like these can leave them unable to keep up and survive on their own. These striking birds often work together to herd fish into shallow water for easier feeding.
OPTION B
Bohemian Waxwing
This Bohemian Waxwing was admitted to Calgary Wildlife after a window strike. Sadly, window collisions kill an estimated 1 to 3 billion birds globally each year, making windows one of the biggest threats birds face. The good news is that simple window treatments can help save lives and prevent these heartbreaking injuries.
Common Raven
This young Common Raven was admitted to Calgary Wildlife with its siblings after a storm destroyed their nest. For two months, they received the expert care they needed to grow strong enough for release. Ravens are part of the corvid family, one of the most intelligent groups of birds in the world, known for using tools, solving problems, and even mimicking sounds around them.
