Fast-food chain KFC Mexico partnered with ChopValue to redesign their interior, made of discarded chopsticks.

ChopValue developed a wood alternative made of recycled bamboo chopsticks. These utensils are used in many Asian restaurants and usually discarded after single use. ChopValue upcycles this waste product into panels that can be processed like wood. Read more about the company here.

In their collaboration with KFC Mexico, ChopValue redesigned the Zona Rosa branch. The ChopValue material was used in the tables, counter, and cladding for a column. In total, the interior gave 229,000 discarded chopsticks a second life and saved 11,560 kg of CO2e emissions.
