SFU Campus Letters
Since 2021, Simon Fraser University (SFU) incorporated ChopValue's chopstick recycling into its community programs, collecting and diverting discarded chopsticks from going into landfills. To close the loop, SFU collaborated with ChopValue to develop a new purpose for the collected chopsticks.

Using the collected waste resources, the teams designed a life-size, mobile SFU letters installation made of 114,240 recycled chopsticks sequestering 170,760g of carbon emissions. SFU reinforces their dedication to innovative and environmentally conscious practices with these eye-catching letters strategically positioned across SFU's campuses, serving as dynamic focal points during events and elevating the campus atmosphere.
The repurposed chopstick letters enhance SFU's visual identity and offer valuable opportunities for community engagement. SFU fosters meaningful connections through these vibrant displays, facilitating interaction and dialogue among students, faculty, and the surrounding community about the circular economy.

This collaborative effort between SFU and ChopValue is a powerful example of how organizations can transform waste into valuable assets. SFU's commitment to sustainability, community engagement, and innovation positions them as a role model in pursuing a better, more sustainable world.
