    Press Technician/Operator

    ChopValue’s novel manufacturing process gives recycled chopsticks a second life. The Press Technician plays a vital role in transforming this under-utilized urban waste (chopsticks) into an innovative and beautiful material. In this role, you will be in charge of operating the press machinery, a role requiring a high level of physical labor. The current opening is for the evening operating shift from 1:30pm - 10:00pm. 


    Your Responsibilities:

    • Operate custom production press machines and achieve daily goals specified by Production department leads.
    • Conduct quality inspections on chopstick tiles and record production runs 
    • Rotate through tasks of different production processes: chopstick sorting, resination and re-manufacturing station
    • Identify opportunities for improvement and streamline the manufacturing material process
    • Flexible in changing from assigned tasks without diminishing the quality of the products
    • Provides general support and assistance for a variety of activities performed in the manufacturing department as needed
    • Keeping the shop clean, tidy and clutter free

    The Ideal Applicant:

    • Can lift and carry up to 60+ pounds occasionally 
    • Is willing and capable to stand for long periods of time while operating heavy machinery
    • Able to handle labor intensive repetitive tasks and work methodically
    • Thrives from working independently as well as a good team player
    • Values good two-way communication and can think analytically about problems ahead
    • A self starter with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn
    • Has previous manufacturing and/or manual labor experience
